The efficient underground: getting more from operations under constraint

Wednesday, October 14, 2026 | 5:30–7:30pm (CT)

Join us for an evening of drinks, food, and candid conversation with industrial leaders focused on improving efficiency, increasing visibility, and getting more from the resources already in place.

This invite-only MIXer convenes a small group of executive and senior leaders navigating complex operations. The format is intentionally conversational, creating space for practical peer exchange, fresh perspectives, and meaningful connections with others facing similar challenges.

About this MIXer

Every operation hits a point where adding more isn’t the answer

A century ago, Chicago built sophisticated underground networks under prohibition-era constraints. What began as a workaround became a remarkably resourceful operation built on tight coordination, speed, and making the most of limited resources. Today’s constraints look different: flat headcount, margin pressure, legacy processes, and competing priorities. The question is similar: how do you get more out of your operation without scaling what it costs?

Join us in the Drawing Room at Untitled Supper Club, a Prohibition-era-inspired speakeasy, for an evening of drinks, food, and networking.

Between the drinks and passed appetizers, you'll find question prompts lying around to get conversations going. Ask the bar about our signature cocktail (the Bootstrapper) while you're at it.

About the MIX

You don't have to figure this out alone

The Modern Industrialist Xchange (MIX) is a community for industrial leaders to connect with people navigating many of the same operational challenges.

Through gatherings, site tours, the MIX podcast, and newsletter, members share practical ideas, learn from one another, and stay connected between events.
